The context
When Aegon's banking business moved to Knab, customers with investment and pension accounts had to move to a new environment.
The problem
Customers who move to a new bank without choosing to need to feel safe right away. The new environment had to feel familiar and work better than the old one.
Core problem
Trust was the key requirement: technically secure, and experienced that way too.
The approach
The team delivered an MVP in close collaboration with other teams, with a lot of attention to UX and test quality.
- 1
An Angular application where moving customers land in an environment that resembles their old one, with better UX.
- 2
A backend-for-frontend on AWS (first Lambda, later ECS) for a secure connection to Knab's APIs.
- 3
A React front end for logging in, changing passwords and receiving one-time codes by text message or email.
What was built
Front ends in Angular and React and a Node.js back end, with 80 to 96 percent test coverage and monitoring through New Relic.
Results
A delivered MVP for the migration, built with 80 to 96 percent test coverage.
